RockDHouse It's been so long since I found something so refreshing and new! I knew from the first listen that this was gonna be a favorite album of mine. So many of these songs had me closing my eyes and smiling while I absorbed their sound and mood. Favorite track: Amber of the Moment.

Boy I've been so busy since the fall of Troy Each new Renaissance to enjoy So much to find in worlds not lost or destroyed But through this rose tint I bet you think It's all noise Hello You're talking To some sort of muse Don't like me? Tough break, kid You don't get to choose I've been here Far longer Than any tune you own And get this Come closer I don't like your tone Respecting Your elders Don't mean worlds can't turn My god, boy I'm laughing You just don't learn But time runs on, young'un So move along or we'll get shoving And time runs on Runs on Runs on Runs on On On Oh boy I've been so busy since the fall of Troy Each new Renaissance to enjoy So much to find in worlds not lost or destroyed But through this rose tint I bet you think It's all noise I just have One question Have you seen my horse? 'Bout yea high Bit splintery Packed with quite some force We both know Exactly How this story ends So take this As warning My young Trojan friend Don't let in (Don't let these feelings in) These feelings 'Less you want a war But go on If you must I'll be keeping score I'll wait here (Don't let these feelings in) Forever For your victory speech But you're dead And you've lost it To some upstart Greeks 'Cause time runs on, young'un I've had enough of being stubborn And time runs on Oh boy I've been so busy since the fall of Troy It's all noise It's all noise It's all noise It's all noise It's all noise It's all noise

I saw a leaf fall Long ago beneath the midday sun With the slightest breeze, the bronze dancer spun Yet even now, the earth escapes its reach Trapped in the case I built where the ground lies Too far away At least for today I climbed the wrong hill Lost again in search of being found With the greenest canvases all around Beneath my eyes lied every path I’d walked If I could bottle that moment I would, but The view’s less vast The other side of the glass Yes, life might pass us by But we can always try To wait ‘til every moment starts to slow There is no why Won’t stop us feeling high Preserved here in forever’s amber glow I watched the world end For about the fifteen-hundredth time It fell like rain around ten past five Like hazy sheets out in the cold night air I heard it push and pull and move onward And I’d sing clear At least it was here And life might pass us by But we can always try To face the world and say oh, so it goes There is no why Won’t stop us feeling high Preserved here in forever’s amber glow In my mind It always felt so fine To be A sailor on the sea Of time It’s flowing round and I’m So content In the amber of the moment

Chaos Such a beautiful word All the drama, the lies The crazed, the absurd All the wolves of the night Have been let out of their cages Enraged, the next page Is from the new dark ages Like truth Alternative, or so they say The bar’s been getting lower Almost every single day The lines blur I’m struggling to see And I hope the eyes behind the trees Won’t send their talons after me And yes I guess we’re always throwing stones But stones don’t come with detonators Leaving craters where their creator’s homes Used to be Or have they led me astray? It’s all just a ploy to sell Pills to push the pain away And guns Suggested targets supplied All firing in succession With the same fake battle cry The world that you’re giving us Is never enough So throw your clocks in the air now ‘Cause your time is up And the night draws inward as they’re laying their traps It’s all so complicated, you just want that blue sky back They’ll tear out your eyes and make screaming your new soundtrack Until you, like your world, can only collapse Feed me to the liar Feed me to the higher-ups The starters to the fire Who won’t take the heat It’s not exactly hard To know the who’s who It’s easy to survive When the bunker’s custom-built for you We’re on about the seventh level Of Dante’s hell Asking, is this an inferno? Or perhaps a minor dry spell? Woah, let’s go sacrificing Our investment returns No matter The flames don’t care whose flag they burn We’re all fodder For the temple of growth It’s a dog-eat-dog world And the wolves won’t soon forget their oath To chew up the land And drain all the seas Building bigger and bigger monuments To the brave and the free And soma Take to ease guilty minds But it won’t do a thing For those below and I believe you’ll find They’re burning out there Can’t you see, can’t you try? Well, the graph’s going up so, eh Live and let die And the night draws inward as they’re laying their traps It’s all so complicated, you just want that blue sky back (Yearly subscription to blue skies only three-nine-nine ninety-nine) They’ll tear out your eyes and make screaming your new soundtrack (World leaders shouting at each other like children, now in every good records store) Until you, like your world, can only collapse The televisions are screaming into the night All the politicians are screaming into the night And the decision is yours to make, stand down or fight Before they drag you, kicking and screaming, back into the night

The Dead One 02:41
Well he’s a bit of a hypocrite Wants all the glory without the grit Because the world has surely gotta fit The way he’s always ever pictured it He stays up late just getting more irate At how the morning light will lift this weight And every day he’ll wait to claim his fate Until the words upon his headstone state He was the dead one No more than an afterthought Someone should have said something For him to believe in I’m sure he’d be furious To see his bones left to rot But I see no difference He’s always asking people where they’ve been Behind a smile he knows is paper-thin He gets a shivering beneath his skin Because the bubble never let him in Someday he’ll grow beyond the status quo Least that’s the hope he’s keeping locked below Near every day he longs to make it so So is it time enough to let him know? He was the dead one No more than an afterthought Someone should have said something For him to believe in I’m sure he’d be furious To see his bones left to be forgot But I see no difference He was the dead one No more than an afterthought Someone should have said something For him to believe in I’m sure he’d be furious To see his bones left to be forgot But I see no difference He was the dead one He was the dead one He was the dead one He was the dead one

And you inhabit my dreams It seems I'm not sure what it means So someone tell me What to believe And you inhabit my dreams It seems I'm not sure what it means So someone tell me What to believe

No star Can hide The fangs on The beast I let inside It’s stayed Beyond My welcome The friend, of which they all seem rather fond I’ll have to find some new distraction Or stay in vogue The clouds, ‘til the last, were lost on me I needed the sun They said it never comes And now I know that some of these thoughts are troublesome

Fossils 06:14
When the spirals go on forever And you’re drowning in the deep When the mountains have all but weathered And Creation is asleep All I want Is one sweet moment to tell you That all the junk the magazines try to sell you Is not enough to fill the hole in your heart It’s not love But you’d be forgiven for thinking With all the other dreams I float that keep sinking This is one that time can’t take apart When you’re nothing but dust and breezes And even they have long decayed When the last soul in heaven freezes I hope you’re a little less afraid All I want Is one sweet moment to tell you That all the junk the magazines try to sell you Is not enough to fill the hole in your heart It won’t last But sometimes I doubt it was meant to Because whoever else this message gets sent to Is just a fossil on their way to the past

How Did I end up here? With you Making good all these years And why Have I found myself by your side? When the dream, the fever, is temporary It must be But in this moment The stars pause their dance The night draws inward On our unexpected circumstance So ignite your fires upon your shore And I’ll bleed no more ‘Cause I need no more I know I’ve never known what I’m fighting for But you’re soft and you’re warm And now I’m quite sure And now I know The only thing that’s true Under stars from now on I’ll find in your eyes I love the feel of you Where Do I go from here? It’s not enough To have it all just to disappear And time Keeps on telling me I must push through But my life ever since has never been so bright As in the darkness with you When for one moment The world stopped and stared It almost made me Believe that maybe you cared When you ignited your fires upon your shore And I’d breathe no more ‘Cause I’d need no more ‘Til then I’d never known what I’m fighting for But you were all to embrace And I was quite sure Back when I knew The one thing that was true In a world that never gives what it can’t take I loved the feel of you And what am I supposed to do? And what am I supposed to do? And what am I supposed to say? (And what am I supposed to do?) It’s over every single day (And what am I supposed to do?) All the stars have gone out of your eyes And I’m left here to wonder why You ignited your fires upon your shore And I’d breathe no more ‘Cause I’d need no more ‘Til then I’d never known what’s worth fighting for But that’s all in the past now It’s gone for sure And now I know The only thing that’s true In cold ice skies becoming black Your memory’s a fleeting crack You’re gone I’ll never have you back

Embers 05:02
Each morning brings the afterglow A fading echo of bad news I never wanted you to know But do we ever get to choose? And I wonder, someday soon Will all these demons steal away? Or will the tunnel run on anyway? Though each new day, the distance grows Still seems so close to you and I Time runs on, reeling from the throes Of detonations in the sky But as the silent embers fall I still won’t let you walk away Take my hand, for we’ve so much left to do anyway So how can you sleep so soundly When your head carries that kind of curse? Yet you’ll watch as the sun still rises As you learn that you’re far from the first To live in embers I’ll pick the flowers from the ash And fashion you a lighter crown For though the world’s gone in a flash Its people’s love lives deeper down I know you never wanted me And that was fine until you’d say I’m never sure I wanted anything, anyway So how can you sleep so soundly When your head carries that kind of curse? Yet you’ll watch as the sun still rises As you learn that the clouds can still burst Above the embers

about

"Well, here we are, Mr. Pilgrim, trapped in the amber of this moment. There is no why." - Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughterhouse Five

Armed with a bank of vocoders and auto-tunes that just about make his singing palatable to people with ears, Oliver Lugg embarks on a mission to explore the concept of time through music. Along the way he'll stretch single moments to infinity, enter futures lost or uncertain, and listen to a severed head from ancient Greece insult everyone's music tastes.

From the vaporwave-laden pulsing of 'T.R.O.Y.' to the lilting piano softness of 'Some of These Thoughts Are Troublesome', from the wonky electronic experimentation of 'The Dead One' to 'Embers' and its orchestral euphoria, this album is a varied and hopefully enjoyable next chapter for the hobbyist producer/composer, who definitely didn't write this description himself in third person because he thought it would be funny.
